Purpose
PMPI aims at promoting and developing mediation in intellectual property and to establish it, in particular, as an effective means for the amicable resolution of dispute in cases where intellectual property rights are at least one of the issues at stake, at the national, European and international levels.
PMPI addresses all issues — human, economic, fiscal, legal, scientific, technical, and otherwise — relating to the prevention and amicable resolution of disputes in which the acquisition and exercise of intellectual property rights are at least one of the issues at stake.
Mission
Intellectual property shapes our interactions with objects, services and creations in virtually every area of life: technology and innovation, culture and entertainment, agriculture, food, health, and education (textbooks, academic research).
Intellectual property disputes therefore carry a level of complexity comparable to that of human relationships, and mediation — called upon to address the conflicts that arise within them — can provide lasting solutions.
However, mediation cannot take place without the willingness of the parties.
PMPI is committed to promoting mediation in intellectual property so that parties facing a dispute driven by intellectual property issues may turn to mediation with confidence.
PMPI : a diverse range of expertise
PMPI's approach is grounded in a diverse range of expertise , as reflected in its founding board and amoung the membership it seeks to bring together: advisory professionals, judges, users, intellectual property offices, academics and researchers. This expertise is informed by dialogue with the stakeholders and actors involved in intellectual property mediation.
