June 1 and 2 marked the founding days of the JUB’s alternative dispute resolution system : a one-stop shop for judicial and alternative resolution of European patent disputes
The launch of the PMAC by its first director, Aleš Zalar of Slovenia, marks a significant milestone: a European center bringing together mediators, arbitrators, and experts from five continents, backed by the Unified Patent Court (UPC), dedicated to mediation and arbitration in patent disputes.
Discussions confirmed the relevance of the services offered by this Center for international disputes, particularly SEP/FRAND.
A hybrid approach to mediation and arbitration was demonstrated by a team established and led by PMPI during a mock session covering all stages of the process, providing a very concrete and highly appreciated insight into what mediation in the FRAND field might look like.
The remarks by Nataša Pirc Musar, President of the Republic of Slovenia, reinforced the enthusiastic momentum behind the launch of the Center and a major European initiative.
